"Fairrie's Paphiopedilum" Satin Scarf
The "Fairrie's Paphiopedilum" Scarf intends to create awareness of this hauntingly beautiful species of orchid, a remarkable work of nature that is critically endangered and cannot be forgotten.
I was immediately enchanted when I came across "Fairrie's Paphiopedilum", during my research for extinct, critically endangered, and endangered animals and plants for this collection.
I couldn't help but do my best, trying to do it justice for its so fragile, yet still living existence.
In this composition, I placed various "Fairrie's Paphiopedilum" joined with Art Nouveau roots resembling a human scaffold to give it even more strength. The Celtic symbol for unconditional love and strength in the middle reinforces this intention for union and hope of this orchid species.
Knowing which species and ecosystems are most at-risk and which are currently stable is a critical piece of information for effective conservation.
It is still possible to rewild it!
